Welcome to the Canton at the end of the world in the Kingdom of Caid.
In the Society for Creative Anachronism
you will find the Kingdom of Caid,
and the Barony of Calafia, where a brave little group
of people formed the Canton of Tanwayour, in the most southern reaches of
the Barony of Calafia (we are generally south of 94).
The Canton of Tanwayour is now in it's seventh year. The Canton (and its officers) sponsors an event for
the Barony of Calafia each year. The Talanque Tourney held in
June, honors the founding Baron of Calafia, it is combined with the Canton
Anniversary. The tourney has heavy, light, and rapier weapon competitions.
We have now added one of the recipes from our 1998 Talanque
feast.
As a canton we have also published several arts&sciences publications. One of the articles we published was how to cast a bronze sword. Or, what factors influenced castle design. To top it off, his entertaining article entitled Burial Was the Spice of Life ... These articles were written by a cultural anthropologist in Northern Ireland, from his studies in the early man digs there. In addition there was one written by Aelflaed of Duckford on how to handle complaints in the SCA.
