There will be no July A&S night due to the Library's Summer Reading Programme.
Can't be there at 5:00pm? No worries! Feel free to show up when you can. The objective is to show up, work on your project, socialize, and perhaps learn something new. These nights are very informal. No need to wear garb, either.
We are in a room separate from the library, so it's OK to bring something to eat and drink.
There is plenty of room for you to bring your current project. There are lots of tables and chairs. If things are cramped where you live, this is the perfect place for you to spread out. For more information about this please contact our Arts & Sciences Officer at email@example.com.
The Library closes at 8:00pm, and we need to be packed up and gone by that time.
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a 501c3 organisation dedicated to the study and re-enactment of the ideal parts of the Middle Ages. (Excluding all the plagues, diseases, poor dentistry, and creative methods of torture.)
The SCA is an international organisation currently comprised of 19 (soon to be 20) Kingdoms. Kingdoms are subdivided into Baronies and Shires. Baronies can have semi-independent areas called Cantons.
Our area comprises San Diego County south of Highway 94, but we welcome all who wish to become a "Tanweirdo" regardless of where you might happen to hang your hat.
Our council meeting is held usually the same day as brigade practise at the location stated above.
You may also join our Yahoo! Group where we discuss all our super-secret Tanweirdo stuff, like where we're going to hold our meeting. We also have a Facebook page. We use both because some people refuse to be Assimilated into Facebook.
The Canton of Tanwayour was first created in the early 1990s, and gained official status in 2000. Each year the Canton sponsors the Talanque Tourney for the Barony of Calafia. The Talanque Tourney honours Calafia's founding Baron. This event is combined with the Canton's Anniversary. The tourney has both heavy and rapier competitions.
We have a recipe page from some of our feasts.
